Here, at the Imperial Palace, we had a jacked up 'Gift of the Magi' Christmas extravaganza, fiasco, thingy.
Mrs. Not Really doesn't have a laptop and is always stealing mine as I type on it. This obviously impinges on my ability to wax diuretic on these posts, so we needed to solve this conundrum.
The Imperial t.v. was a 22" relic from the elder Bush administration, graciously donated by brother Not Really, and it was hard to make out the action from the seemingly haphazard decorative etchings across the glass.
We have Comcast but neither one of us watches much t.v. and about the only thing I watch is HRTV and English Premier Football. We had discussed on several occasions, getting rid of our t.v. and the cable and just doing whatever viewing we do on our computers...which Mrs. Not Really does not have, as stated above.
Mrs. Not Really lives for the holidays and can keep a secret like a valley girl. Unable to contain herself, she bubbles around the house and I am supposed to pretend that I don't know that she is just dying to tell me what she bought me for Christmas.
Having just decided what laptop I would buy her, she runs into the room and blurts out that she is getting me a big screen LCD HDTV.
And I don't know how the hell I survived this long without one.
Can't get rid of cable with a new t.v., so we split the t.v. and I still have to book time to use my laptop.
The fact that neither TVG nor HRTV broadcast in HD is just another sorry testament to the speed at which this game operates.

Same with the OTB channel---no HD.
The most beautiful sport deserves the sharpest transmission. I might never change channels...

Look at it this way, now you can see how many different shades of red Tom Coughlin's cheeks during one football game.
How bout them Blackburn Rovers...
