Still waiting on the Austrian judge

In a recent article in the LA Times, reporter Lance Pugmire, floats Bo Derek's name as the new chair for the CHRB.

He had me until he actually started writing his piece.

Bo Derek will always hold a special place in my heart. She was my first infatuation and introduced me to Zen.

I have no idea if she is qualified or not or what her agenda might be but the argument that she should head the CHRB because she is sexy and might attract horny men to the track is a specious one.

Racing has genuine problems and requires apposite solutions. It cannot suffer through another ill conceived round of band aids and knee jerk reactions. It deserves the very best from all parties and while Bo Derek might be perfect for the job, Pugmire's rationale is salacious and sophomoric.

Cue the "Bo Knows Horse Racing" ad campaign!

Reading the article, the last thing horse racing needs right now is more mentions of steroids and breakdowns in the few inches of column space the sport garners lately.

Not that all writing should be fluff, but at the very least let's have some positive references!

Win - Good to see you back posting daily!!
