Keeping it in the family

Brother Patrick won the riding title at Woodbine and if his brother Simon had ridden a few more races like he did on Nov 30th, the margin might have been wider.

Apparently, Simon, riding Bug's Boy, '...did not persevere with his mount throughout the race or demonstrate an effort to ensure the best and fastest race of which his mount was capable.'

So claimed the stewards, who are proposing a one year suspension to the guilty brother. Maybe all the draft dodgers in the 60's were just going to Canada because of their actual adherence to rules and administration of meaningful penalties.

Biancone's snake of a vet, however, manages to avoid further sanctions because the KHRC apparently forgot to set their alarm and missed the 48 hour deadline that gave Stewart a stay on his suspension. This game is awesome.

Here's the race. Bug's Boy runs second to the older brother.

obama has helped a brother....

In August 2006, the Associated Press quoted Obama saying, “We’ve got a governor in Rod Blagojevich who has delivered consistently on behalf of the people of Illinois.”

No doubt Obama would now say that the Rod Blagojevich who tried to sell his vacant Senate seat “isn’t the Rod Blagojevich I knew.” Maybe it’s time to take notice of the fact that Barack Obama is either 1) an astonishingly poor judge of character, or 2) a politician who swims comfortably and successfully in what must be America’s most corrupt pond. This is, apparently, the “change” that millions of Americans voted for.”
